Mortgage, Rent Assistance Available for Income-Eligible Brevard County Residents Impacted by COVID-19

Funds are now available to income-eligible residents for mortgage assistance, rental assistance and utility and security deposit assistance through Brevard County’s Housing and Human Services Department.
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Funds are now available to income-eligible residents for mortgage assistance, rental assistance and utility and security deposit assistance through Brevard County’s Housing and Human Services Department. Brevard County’s Board of County Commissioners has allocated up to $4.4 million in federal CARES Act grant funds to assist those financially impacted as a result of the COVID-19 public health emergency. Those eligible must be a resident of Brevard County; at or below 140 percent of area median income; and able to demonstrate assistance is required as a result of direct impacts from coronavirus. To qualify, applicants must be able to submit documents supporting income, need and other assistance, including income verification documents such as paychecks, unemployment compensation history, veteran’s check, child support payment history, Aid to Families with Dependent Children/Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, bank statements, rental agreements, mortgage statements, documentation for a utility deposit, and most recent tax return, etc. Applications for assistance are available online at these locations: www.brevardfl.gov/HumanServices/Announcements, and www.brevardfl.gov (look in the blue box at the top of the page for COVID-19 Financial Assistance Program.)
